TL;DR: Google just dropped #Gemini AI into Google Docs for Android users! 📱✨ Now you can summarize, ask questions, and suggest improvements on your doc right from your phone, saving tons of commute time. This is live now for Google Workspace business plans, rolling out from June 9 (extended rollout) and July 2 for scheduled domains. #AI #Productivity

What’s going down? 😎

  • Gemini icon appears in the top app bar next to the menu—just tap it to launch a magic bottom panel 🎩📋 

  • You can do things like:

    • “Summarize this document” to get quick gist while traveling or before meetings 🚆

    • “Outline main points” so you don’t miss the big ideas

    • “Suggest improvements” to polish your draft before sharing it

  • Best part? Totally works offline-ish on mobile since the AI is built into the Docs app—no need to switch apps or download extra tools reddit.

  • Heads up: features like Help me write, Help me create, and image generation are not available yet on Android androidcentral.

Rollout & compatibility ⚙️

  • Available for users on:

    • Google Workspace Business (Standard & Plus)

    • Enterprise (Standard & Plus)

    • Gemini Education add-ons and legacy Gemini Business/Enterprise plans 

  • Works on Android devices (phones and tablets) with Android 8+ 

  • Rollout schedule:

    • June 9, 2025: Extended rollout begins

    • July 2, 2025: Scheduled domains go live in 1–3 days
