AI Could Release New Songs from Artists After They’re Gone

Artificial intelligence may soon allow fans to hear “new releases” from artists who are no longer alive.

Ty Roberts, CEO of Fantracks Music, said at the Synapse India Conclave in Gurugram that AI technology is advancing to a point where an artist’s voice and style can be recreated with remarkable accuracy.

Speaking during his session titled “Art & Digital Immortality,” Roberts emphasized that musicians must now think beyond their lifetime — not just spiritually, but legally and commercially.

He raised key questions: Should an artist’s voice continue after their death? Who controls that legacy? And how can artistic integrity be preserved in an AI-driven future?

AI has already been used in music and film to recreate voices, complete unfinished works, and digitally resurrect performances.

The debate now moves beyond technology.

It’s about ownership, consent and the future of creative identity.
