Australia thrash India to win 6th ODI World Cup title🏏🏆

Travis Head played a sensational knock of 137 runs to help Australia hammer India by six wickets in the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup and win a record-extending sixth title.

A wait for 4 more years till 2027 will be hard for 1.4 billions Indian fans. India were so close to lift the coveted title for the third time but unfortunately faltered at the final hurdle. In what came as shock for all the Indian cricket fans, the Rohit Sharma-led side were unable to show intent when it mattered the most. They put up a terrific show in the entire tournament but they were unable to absorb the pressure at the big stage match. Apart from the veterans (Rohit and Virat), only KL Rahul contributed with the bat in the first innings and that too very cautiously, as if the team was out in the middle for a chase.

India yet again crumbled under pressure raising a very strong question that is their talent, performance, intent and character limited to just the bilateral series? Before the World Cup, India beat the same opponent in a bilateral series and also emerged victorious over them in the league stage. Then what went wrong in the final that denied the Men in Blue their third title? The way with which they carried themselves in the entire tournament, the collective team effort, all went in vain as they were unable to showcase their prowess which should have been vividly visible in the most crucial cricket clash.

Meanwhile, Australia, who have proved their cricketing prowess again and again, proved it yet again after making the World Cup final chase look so easy after a certain point of time in the match. It became a cakewalk for the Pat Cummins-led side as they grabbed the final glory in style and confidence, undeterred by the fact they were put on the backfoot by Team India inside the powerplay. Losing three wickets at a score of 47 could have crumbled any team especially in a World Cup final but Australia being Australia proved why they should not be written off ever, even if an upset happens. Australia lost the opening two games in the World Cup but came roaring back to take home the beautiful trophy.
