AP Health Crisis Aarogyasri Services Halted! Find Out Why...

Aarogyasri services in Andhra Pradesh are set to be halted. Starting tomorrow (May 22), the Andhra Pradesh Specialty Hospital Association (ASHA) will cease these services. ASHA has stated that the government has failed to pay for the treatments provided under Aarogyasri. Since August last year, the payment of bills has been stalled, amounting to approximately ₹1500 crores.

ASHA reported that bills worth ₹530 crores have been uploaded to the CFMS, but payments have yet to be made. Under the Employee Health Scheme, only ₹50 crores have been paid so far. Due to these pending payments, ASHA has decided to halt Aarogyasri services and also stop services under the Employee Health Scheme.

ASHA has repeatedly written to the government about the pending bills, but only ₹50 crores have been paid so far. The hospitals have been urging the government to clear the dues for a long time and have written multiple letters. Additionally, they are requesting an increase in package rates for treatments under Aarogyasri, as the current rates are based on prices from ten years ago. Despite these pleas, there has been no response from the government.

Under the Aarogyasri scheme, the government provides free corporate healthcare to the poor, benefiting many. However, with these services coming to a halt, many people are set to face significant difficulties.
