Vineet Tiwari Awarded Prestigious Shankar Brahme Fellowship To Research And Author Book On Palestine

The acclaimed Shankar Brahme Samaj Vidnyan Granthalaya in Pune has announced its specialized Research and Book-Writing Fellowship for 2026, awarding it to noted author, poet, and social activist Vineet Tiwari.

Under this fellowship, Tiwari will author a comprehensive, research-driven book focusing on contemporary issues in Palestine. The three-month fellowship will commence on 1st August 2026 and culminate in a book publication across Hindi, English, and Marathi languages.
The Granthalaya recognized Tiwari’s dedication in its official letter, noting:
"Your unwavering commitment to a just and peaceful world order has significantly enriched the public discourse on Palestine. Your work serves as a deep source of inspiration for contemporary writers and activists across India."
Tiwari, originally from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, and currently based in Delhi and Indore, has over three decades of involvement in people’s movements and human rights advocacy, with two decades of active engagement in Palestine solidarity campaigns. A civil engineer by training, Tiwari later transitioned to journalism, poetry, and playwriting to amplify social causes.
He has held leadership roles in several organizations:
National Secretariat Member, Progressive Writers’ Association (PWA)
National Secretariat Member, All-India Peace and Solidarity Organisation (AIPSO)
Core Central Committee Member, Indo-Palestine Solidarity Network
National Core Team Member, Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA)
In November 2025, Tiwari undertook a field visit to the West Bank in Palestine, documenting grassroots realities firsthand.
The Shankar Brahme Samaj Vidnyan Granthalaya, established in memory of the visionary Shankar Brahme and founded by Dr. Sulabha Brahme, has been a vibrant centre for social consciousness, research, and publishing, producing over 70 seminal books on issues including nuclear energy, Kashmir, communalism, and imperialism.
The fellowship will enable Tiwari to document his experiences, analyses, and perspectives, contributing a lasting scholarly and public resource on Palestine’s contemporary social and political landscape.
