Revanth To KCR: Come To Assembly And Debate
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced that the state Assembly will be convened in September and directly challenged BRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao to attend the session.

Speaking at a public meeting in Parkala near Warangal, Revanth said KCR should come to the Assembly and take part in a debate on the welfare and development achieved during the BRS government’s 10-year rule.
Why Revanth Challenged KCR
Revanth pointed out that BRS working president KT Rama Rao and MLA T Harish Rao have repeatedly demanded that the government convene the Assembly.
He said KCR, given his long political experience and tenure as chief minister and Union minister, should personally participate when the session is held.
Debt Becomes A Key Political Flashpoint
The Chief Minister said the Assembly should also discuss what he described as an ₹8.11 lakh crore debt burden inherited from the previous BRS government.
According to Revanth, the current government is paying around ₹75,000 crore annually toward principal and interest on the state’s debt.
Jobs And Youth Also In Focus
Revanth accused BRS leaders of trying to provoke unemployed youth and criticised the previous government’s record on recruitment.
He claimed the Congress government has filled 70,000 vacancies since coming to power in December 2023 and said the remaining vacancies would be filled in phases.
Revanth Targets BRS On ‘Family Politics’
The Chief Minister also contrasted what he called Congress’s “social justice” with BRS’s “family justice.”
He alleged that while his government included leaders from backward and other sections in the cabinet, KCR had promoted members of his own family to key political positions during BRS rule.
Message To Students
Revanth also urged students to pursue technical qualifications after Intermediate through ITIs being upgraded into Advanced Technology Centres, polytechnic colleges and the state’s skills university.
He suggested that students should also consider job opportunities in countries such as Germany and Japan instead of focusing only on the United States.
The state government, he said, would help students learn German and Japanese languages.
WHY THIS MATTERS
The September Assembly session could turn into a major political face-off between Congress and BRS.
With Revanth publicly challenging KCR to attend, issues including Telangana’s debt, employment, welfare schemes and the record of both governments are likely to dominate the debate.
KCR has largely stayed away from the Assembly since BRS lost power in December 2023, making his possible appearance one of the biggest political questions ahead of the session.
