Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has issued a stern warning to party leaders, ministers, MLAs, MPs and constituency in‑charges ahead of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, saying strict action will be taken if they fail to follow instructions.

Speaking in a Zoom meeting on June 24, the CM emphasised the seriousness of the SIR campaign, which involves updating voter lists and identifying genuine voters ahead of future elections. He criticised negligence among some leaders and stressed the need for more awareness meetings and vigilant implementation. (The Siasat Daily)
Reddy also instructed that in‑charges who fail to implement directives — including thorough scrutiny of voter data, protecting voting rights of the poor, and coordination with Election Commission officials may be replaced. He said the performance of party leaders will be monitored closely over the next 10 days. (The Siasat Daily)
The move aims to safeguard genuine voters and ensure no one loses their voting rights due to administrative gaps during the SIR process. (The Siasat Daily)
Why This Matters
For Gen‑Z and voters across Telangana, accurate electoral rolls are critical to democratic participation and trust in the election system — especially with assembly polls on the horizon.
