Big Traffic Change Around KBR Park From Aug 18

Hyderabad commuters are set for a major traffic change around KBR Park from August 18, with a new one-way system coming into force for around one-and-a-half years.
The Hyderabad Traffic Police has issued a detailed advisory as construction work continues under the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure, or H-CITI, project.
Why The Change?
The one-way system is being introduced to facilitate the construction of seven flyovers and underpasses around KBR Park.
Traffic police said construction work is expected to continue for about 1.5 years, with available road space likely to reduce by around 30 to 40 percent at several locations during the project.
NFCL To Road No. 45, IT Corridor And Cable Bridge
Commuters travelling from NFCL will no longer be allowed to take a direct right turn at NTR Bhavan.
They will have to turn left towards KBR Park and then use the designated lanes to proceed towards Road No. 45 or travel through Journalist Colony.
KBR Checkpost To NFCL, Panjagutta And Begumpet
Vehicles from KBR Checkpost can use both lanes.
Those heading towards NFCL or Panjagutta must move to Lane 1 through the newly opened median near Gymkhana Club and then take a free left at NTR Bhavan.
KBR Checkpost To Road No. 10, Road No. 12 And Cancer Hospital
Motorists heading towards Road No. 10 can shift left using the median opening near Study Circle.
Those travelling towards Road No. 12 can move left after passing the Cancer Hospital.
NFCL To Road No. 36
The right turn at NTR Bhavan will remain closed.
Motorists can instead turn right at Srinagar Colony T-Junction and travel through Indiranagar Gadda, Venkatagiri Cross Roads and Road No. 10 Jubilee Hills before taking a right at the newly opened median near Alcazar Plaza.
Film Nagar Access In The Evening
The right turn from Road No. 45 towards Film Nagar will be restricted.
Commuters can use Road No. 51 and Road No. 52 as alternative routes.
More Construction Ahead
Joint Commissioner of Police Traffic D Joel Davis said foundation and pillar work has already started for 17 pillars along Road No. 2 in Banjara Hills and the KBR Park-Checkpost stretch.
Around 110 more pillars, along with underpasses, are yet to be constructed.
WHY THIS MATTERS
KBR Park is surrounded by some of Hyderabad’s busiest routes connecting Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Panjagutta, Film Nagar and the IT corridor.
A long-term one-way system combined with reduced carriageway means commuters could face delays and unfamiliar diversions for months.
If you regularly travel through this stretch, checking the revised route before leaving could save significant time.
