Ameenpur police have registered a criminal case against suspended Jubilee Hills Circle Inspector U Srinivasulu Reddy following allegations made by a woman who accused him of sexual assault, threats and financial exploitation. The case was booked on Friday, August 7.

Police told that Reddy was booked for alleged rape and culpable homicide offences, along with provisions of the Information Technology Act. The report does not explain the circumstances behind the culpable-homicide allegation. The accusations remain subject to investigation and have not been proven in court.
Complaint Dates Back to 2021
According to the woman’s complaint, she first approached Reddy in December 2021, when he was serving as SHO of Ameenpur Police Station, seeking assistance with a family dispute.
She alleged that after helping resolve the matter, Reddy continued calling and messaging her before eventually pressuring her to enter a relationship with him. She accused him of sexually assaulting her on multiple occasions and threatening consequences if she refused his demands.
Allegations of Blackmail and Extortion
The complainant further alleged that Reddy threatened to release private photographs and videos if she spoke about what had happened and that he obtained money from her on multiple occasions through online payments.
Earlier reporting on the complaint said the woman also accused him of forcing her to undergo an abortion, physically assaulting her and demanding money.
Police Department Had Already Suspended Him
Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar suspended Reddy on July 28 after the complaint was referred to the city police and a departmental inquiry was initiated.
Reddy had been serving as the Jubilee Hills SHO before his suspension. Earlier reports said he denied the allegations and claimed that the complainant had instead threatened and extorted money from him.
Investigation Continues
Police have said a further investigation into the allegations is underway. The criminal case and departmental proceedings are separate, and the filing of a case does not establish guilt.
