Rajinikanth Gives ₹1 Lakh to Bava Lakshmanan; Vijay Helps Actor Secure Housing After Amputation

Veteran Tamil actor and comedian Bava Lakshmanan has revealed that Rajinikanth, Vijay and several members of the film industry came forward to support him after a viral video highlighted his serious health and financial struggles.

Lakshmanan said he had been left without proper housing and was seen sleeping in a parking area after diabetes-related complications led to the amputation of three toes. His condition reportedly prevented him from working for several months, worsening his financial crisis. (Hindustan Times)

Following the circulation of the video, actor Vijay reportedly extended financial help, while arrangements were made for Lakshmanan to stay temporarily in MLA quarters for six months. The actor said he was informed that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin had seen the viral video and directed officials to assist him. (Hindustan Times)

Lakshmanan also revealed that superstar Rajinikanth gave him ₹1 lakh.

According to the actor, Rajinikanth’s assistant told him that an additional ₹10,000 would be deposited into his account every month to cover living expenses. Rajinikanth also reportedly assured him of further help whenever required. (Hindustan Times)

Businessman and actor Legend Saravanan reportedly contributed ₹2 lakh, while actors Jiiva, KPY Bala, Cool Suresh and others also extended support. (Hindustan Times)

Bava Lakshmanan is known for appearing alongside popular comedians such as Vadivelu and Vivek in numerous films. He became especially popular for the dialogue “Vaa Ma Minnal” from the 2000 Tamil film Maayi. He also worked as a production manager for Super Good Films and was most recently seen in the 2025 film Mr Housekeeping. (Hindustan Times)
