Priyanka Chopra Jonas has added another major Hollywood project to her lineup.
The actor is set to star alongside Oscar winner Russell Crowe in Bluefly, an upcoming sci-fi action thriller directed by Nimród Antal.
What Is Bluefly About?
Bluefly is set in the Congo and follows a grieving United Nations translator who becomes caught up in a secret black-ops mission.
The mission involves recovering a mysterious crashed aircraft that officially does not exist.
As a Special Operations team moves upriver through militia-controlled territory, the mission becomes increasingly dangerous and the group begins to realise they may never have been meant to bring the aircraft back.
Priyanka and Russell Crowe Lead the Cast
Priyanka will share the screen with Russell Crowe, who won the Academy Award for Best Actor for Gladiator.
Specific details about their individual characters have not yet been fully revealed, but the filmmakers are positioning the pair at the centre of the high-stakes sci-fi story.
Predators Director Takes Charge
Nimród Antal, known for Predators and his work on Stranger Things, will direct Bluefly.
The screenplay has been written by David Frigerio, William Eubank and Carlyle Eubank.
Antal described the project as a character-driven thriller built around a bold science-fiction premise, with suspense and dread playing major roles in the story.
Filming Heads to Australia
Principal photography is scheduled to begin later in 2026 on Australia’s Gold Coast.
Highland Film Group is handling worldwide rights and plans to introduce the project to international buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival market.
Priyanka’s Global Slate Keeps Growing
The announcement arrives while Priyanka is also involved in SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi, starring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran.
She has also been expanding her international film slate following projects including The Bluff and Heads of State.
