Flag Without Ashoka Chakra? Allu Arjun Deletes Independence Day Post

Telugu star Allu Arjun has deleted an Independence Day social media post after facing criticism over an illustration of the Indian flag that appeared without the Ashoka Chakra.

Poster of Allu Arjun with raised hands and headlines about a deleted Independence Day post, Ashoka Chakra, and Indian flag.

The post, shared to mark Independence Day, featured the Tricolour flying near the Red Fort along with the message “Happy Independence Day.” However, social media users quickly noticed that the Ashoka Chakra was missing from the flag itself.

What Was In The Post?

According to Hindustan Times, the image showed the Tricolour near the Red Fort and also included Allu Arjun’s logo.

While an Ashoka Chakra element appeared elsewhere in the background artwork, it was not present on the actual flag shown in the illustration.

Backlash Grows Online

The missing detail prompted criticism across social media, with some users questioning how such an error involving the national flag could have been overlooked.

Others also questioned the placement of Allu Arjun’s branding in the Red Fort-themed artwork.

Post Deleted, Screenshots Continue To Circulate

Allu Arjun later removed the post.

However, screenshots of the Independence Day greeting had already spread across social media and continued to circulate even after the original upload disappeared.

No Public Apology Mentioned

The Hindustan Times report says the post was deleted but does not mention any public apology or clarification from Allu Arjun regarding the artwork at the time of publication.

What’s Next For Allu Arjun?

On the work front, Allu Arjun is currently shooting for Raaka, directed by Atlee.

The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Janhvi Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur, along with Ramya Krishnan, Jim Sarbh and Yogi Babu.

The project was earlier known by its working title AA22xA6 before being officially announced as Raaka.

WHY THIS MATTERS

The controversy shows how closely celebrity social media posts are scrutinised, especially when they involve national symbols.

What may have been a design error quickly became a larger online debate because the Ashoka Chakra is an essential part of India’s national flag.

For public figures with millions of followers, even small mistakes in patriotic or nationally significant content can generate immediate backlash and remain online through screenshots long after the original post is deleted.
