Now I Feel I Deserve the Mega Family: Niharika Gets Emotional
Actor-producer Niharika Konidela has opened up about the emotional impact of Committee Kurrollu winning two National Film Awards, saying the recognition finally made her feel that she deserved her place in the Konidela “Mega” family.
Speaking at a celebration event in Hyderabad, Niharika said she had never felt as fulfilled in her 32 years as she did after the film’s National Award success. Committee Kurrollu won Best Telugu Film, while P Ravi Kumar received the award for Best Make-up.
“I’ve Never Felt This Fulfilled”
Niharika said she strongly believed in the film from the moment she heard its story and described it as a movie with a “big heart.”
She added that director Yadu Vamsi had repeatedly called it National Award-worthy. Although winning such an honour was not initially her dream, she later added it to her vision board during production and was delighted to see it come true.
Emotional About the Mega Family Legacy
Niharika reflected on the achievements of her family members, including her uncles Chiranjeevi and Pawan Kalyan and her father, Naga Babu.
She recalled that her father had received three National Awards for Rudraveena decades earlier and said members of her family had made major contributions to Telugu cinema through their careers.
“I Was Just There in the Family”
The actor-producer admitted that, despite entering films with Oka Manasu in 2016, she had not previously experienced an achievement that made her feel she had contributed meaningfully to the family’s cinematic legacy.
She said she had sometimes felt that she was simply present as a member of the Konidela family. After the success of Committee Kurrollu, however, she finally felt proud and deserving of being associated with the Mega family.
