Don’t Risk Losing Your Vote! Here’s How to Submit the SIR Form Online

The Election Commission of India has enabled eligible voters in states undergoing the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) to complete and submit their voter enumeration forms online.

People fill voter forms at a desk with laptop and electoral rolls, beside bold text: SIR FORM ONLINE! Step-by-step guide.

The facility is available through the official Voters’ Service Portal, allowing electors to verify their existing voter details and submit the form without waiting for a Booth Level Officer to collect the physical copy. (Telangana Today)

What Is the SIR Enumeration Form?

The Special Intensive Revision is an electoral-roll verification exercise conducted to update voter information and identify entries relating to deceased, permanently shifted, duplicate or otherwise ineligible electors.

Existing voters covered by the exercise may be asked to verify their personal details, address, photograph and links to an earlier SIR electoral roll. (CEO Goa)

Step 1: Visit the Official Voters’ Portal

Open the Election Commission’s Voters’ Service Portal and select the option for the Enumeration Form.

The login page accepts a registered mobile number, email address or EPIC number. Do not submit personal details through unofficial websites or links circulated on social media. (Voter's Portal)

Step 2: Log In or Create an Account

Existing users can log in using their registered credentials.

New users must create an account and complete the required OTP verification before accessing the online services.

Step 3: Open the Enumeration Form

After logging in, select the option to fill the SIR enumeration form.

Enter or confirm your EPIC number so the portal can retrieve the available voter-roll details linked to your record. (Telangana Today)

Step 4: Verify the Pre-Filled Details

Check the information displayed on the screen, including:

  • Name

  • EPIC number

  • Assembly constituency

  • Polling station

  • Date of birth or age

  • Address

  • Relative’s name

  • Photograph

Report or correct discrepancies only through the appropriate facility provided on the official portal.

Step 5: Search the Previous SIR Electoral Roll

The voter may be asked to provide details linking them—or an eligible parent or grandparent—to the electoral roll used during the previous SIR.

The portal provides a search facility where users can select the state, district, Assembly constituency and polling station to locate records from the earlier roll. (CEO Goa)

Where permitted, voters may search for their own name or the name of their mother, father, grandfather or grandmother in the previous SIR electoral roll. (CEO Goa)

Step 6: Enter the Required Information

Fill in the requested details accurately and upload any documents sought by the portal.

Document requirements may depend on whether the voter or an eligible relative can be traced in the previous SIR roll. Voters should follow the instructions displayed for their state rather than relying on generic lists shared online.

Step 7: Complete Aadhaar-Based eSign

Online submission may require Aadhaar-based electronic signing.

Official guidance issued for earlier SIR online submissions stated that the voter could submit the form only for themselves and that the name associated with the EPIC should match the name used for Aadhaar-based eSign. (CEO Kerala)

The mobile number may also need to be properly linked to the voter record. Where it is not linked, the voter may first have to use the relevant correction facility, such as Form 8, before completing online submission. (CEO Kerala)

Step 8: Review and Submit

Carefully review every entry before final submission.

After completing the eSign process, submit the form and save the acknowledgement or reference number. Take a screenshot or download the receipt for future verification.

Unable to Submit Online?

Voters who cannot complete the process online can contact their Booth Level Officer and submit the signed physical enumeration form.

Officials have also advised voters to submit the form with the information available to them even when they cannot locate every historical detail, rather than leaving it unsubmitted. (The Times of India)

Important Points to Remember

Online submission is meant for the elector’s own form and should not be used to submit forms on behalf of unrelated people.

Deadlines and document requirements can differ between states and phases of SIR. Voters should confirm the applicable deadline through the official Chief Electoral Officer website, their BLO or the Election Commission portal.
