Big B Calls SRK’s Swades Performance ‘Absolutely Outstanding

Amitabh Bachchan has showered praise on Shah Rukh Khan’s performance in Swades, calling his acting in the 2004 film “absolutely outstanding” during an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 18.
The moment came while Bachchan was explaining a question about some of Shah Rukh Khan’s most memorable film roles.
A KBC Question Sparks The Praise
During the second episode of KBC Season 18, contestant Bablu Kumar Pandit was asked to identify the actor who had played a NASA scientist, an Indian Air Force pilot and the coach of the Indian women’s hockey team in Hindi films.
The correct answer was Shah Rukh Khan.
Big B Singles Out Swades
After confirming the answer, Amitabh Bachchan spoke about SRK’s performances and specifically highlighted Swades.
He said he considers Shah Rukh’s acting in the film outstanding and added that he has personally told SRK the same whenever they meet.
Three Iconic SRK Roles
The KBC question connected three popular Shah Rukh Khan characters.
In Swades, SRK played NASA scientist Mohan Bhargava.
In Veer-Zaara, he played Indian Air Force officer Veer Pratap Singh.
And in Chak De! India, he portrayed Kabir Khan, coach of the Indian women’s hockey team.
Why Swades Still Stands Out
Directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, Swades was released in 2004 and followed Mohan Bhargava, an Indian-origin NASA scientist who returns to India and gradually becomes deeply connected to a rural community.
The film also featured Gayatri Joshi and music by A.R. Rahman. It won two National Film Awards, including Best Male Playback Singer for Udit Narayan and Best Cinematography.
KBC 18 Is Back
Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 18 premiered on August 10, with Amitabh Bachchan returning as host.
The opening episode featured Aamir Khan, Preity Zinta and Sunny Deol, who appeared to promote their upcoming film Batwara 1947.
