Anil Kapoor Returns to TV With Logic-Based Game Show India Ke Top 1%, Winner Gets ₹1 Crore

Anil Kapoor is returning to television with a new game show called India Ke Top 1%, the Indian adaptation of the international format The 1% Club. Unlike conventional quiz shows, this one is built around logic, observation, pattern recognition and common sense rather than general knowledge.

How The Game Works

The show begins with 100 contestants.

Questions become progressively tougher, starting with ones that around 90% of people are expected to solve and eventually reaching the final challenge that only 1% are expected to answer correctly.

The questions are tested in advance through surveys conducted with a representative group from across India.

Not About What You Know

The format is designed to test how contestants think.

Observation skills, logic, presence of mind, pattern recognition and the ability to stay calm under pressure will matter more than memorising facts.

Viewers at home will also be able to play along with every question in real time.

Anil Kapoor Returns As Host

The show marks Anil Kapoor’s return to hosting reality television after Bigg Boss OTT 3 in 2024.

Kapoor said India Ke Top 1% stands apart because it tests different forms of intelligence and allows families watching from home to challenge themselves alongside contestants.

₹1 Crore Prize

The contestant who reaches the top and successfully conquers the toughest challenge will win ₹1 crore.

The format is also designed to be age-inclusive, with producers saying younger contestants can potentially compete on equal footing with older participants because the game is based on reasoning rather than accumulated knowledge.

When And Where To Watch

India Ke Top 1% will premiere on September 5, 2026.

The show will air on Star Plus and stream simultaneously on JioHotstar. It is being produced in India by Banijay Asia.

A Global Format Comes To India

The original The 1% Club debuted in the UK in 2022 and has since been adapted across several countries including the United States, Australia, Germany, Spain, France, Israel and Mexico.

The Indian edition now brings the same logic-first format to local audiences with Anil Kapoor as host.
