421 Caught Drunk Driving in Hyderabad Weekend Police Drive

Hyderabad Traffic Police booked 421 people for drunk driving during a special enforcement drive conducted over the weekend on August 7 and 8.
The crackdown was carried out to prevent accidents caused by driving under the influence of alcohol and improve road safety across the city.
Two-Wheeler Riders Form Majority of Cases
Among those booked:
🏍️ 334 were two-wheeler riders🚗 40 were four-wheeler drivers🛺 37 were three-wheeler drivers
High Blood Alcohol Levels Recorded
Police records showed varying levels of Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) among offenders:
173 people recorded BAC levels between 51–100
87 recorded 30–50
82 recorded 101–150
41 recorded 151–200
18 recorded 201–250
12 recorded 251–300
8 recorded levels above 300
Police Warn Strict Action
Authorities have warned that motorists involved in fatal accidents while driving under the influence could face serious legal consequences.
Police said offenders causing fatal crashes while intoxicated may be booked under Section 105 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (culpable homicide not amounting to murder), which carries a possible jail term of up to 10 years.
Hyderabad Continues Weekend Crackdowns
The latest action follows several similar special drives conducted by Hyderabad, Cyberabad and other commissionerates to curb drunk driving. Previous enforcement drives have also resulted in hundreds of cases being registered across the city.
