TL;DRAfter World War II officially ended in August 1945, Indian soldiers kept fighting ā not for India, but to protect British colonial interests in Asia . The British Indian Army was still under British control and was used to suppress anti-colonial movements in places like Vietnam and Indonesia . This wasn't about freedom ā it was about empire maintenance!

šŖ Post-War But Still Fighting? WTH!
So bro, imagine the world war ends in August 1945 ā Japan surrenders and the big fight is over . But Indian soldiers are still running around in Southeast Asia fighting battles š. Why?? Coz the British were like, āAy India is still ours ,ā and kept using our desi jawans to protect theirĀ empire!
š„ Where Were They Sent?
After the war, the Indian Army was sent to:
VietnamĀ ā to fight the Viet Minh who wanted freedom from French rule
IndonesiaĀ ā to help the Dutch put down a freedom struggle
Burma, Thailand, and MalaysiaĀ ā to restore British order and collect Japanese surrenders
Imagine that yaar⦠our soldiers risking lives to crush other people's freedom fights. Insane naa?
š§āāļø British Still in Charge!
Even in 1946, the army was still called the āBritish Indian Army.ā Indian officers were rising in ranks but top control was still white bosses from London . Around 15,000 Indian officersĀ were there, but still no real independence of command.

Everyone started seeing British rule as fully fake and fragileĀ
š§Æ Britain Burnt Out

š So Whatās The Takeaway?
Even after the big war was over, Indian jawans were made to fight for someone else's crownĀ . The real freedom fights were happening inside India ā by sailors, workers, students, and farmers .
Our soldiers were brave, no doubt . But they were being usedĀ by the British to hold onto their dying empire . It was only the people's pressure, the mass resistance, and the anger on the streets that forced the Brits to run away!
š MediaFx Opinion
This story shows the dark side of colonial rule. Our youth, our labour, our lives were exploited for foreign powers. The British kept our army busy fighting other people's battlesĀ while ignoring our right to self-rule .
The real heroes were not the ones obeying orders from the Queen, but the ones defying them for justice ā like the naval mutineers, the INA fighters, the striking workers.Ā
Indiaās freedom wasnāt āgivenā ā it was snatchedĀ by peopleās struggle. Letās never forget that! š®š³
