Big Breakthrough in TET Paper Leak! Main Accused Arrested in Bihar
The Bhiwandi Police have arrested Bijendra Kumar Gupta, the alleged mastermind and main accused in the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test TET 2026 paper leak case from Bihar.
Following his arrest, Gupta was brought to Pune Airport and is expected to be taken to Bhiwandi for further questioning and legal proceedings. Police allege that he played a central role in receiving and distributing the leaked examination paper.
Alleged Mastermind Was Absconding
Bijendra Gupta had reportedly been absconding while the Special Investigation Team investigated the paper leak network.
Investigators believe the confidential TET question paper was initially leaked from an Agra-based printing press and later supplied to Gupta through other members of the alleged racket.
Printing Press Employees Arrested
Earlier, on July 5, the SIT arrested three employees of an Agra-based printing press for allegedly leaking the examination paper during the printing process.
The arrested employees were identified as Nareshkumar Puranchand Mahore, Sanjaykumar Sureshchandra Chandra and Babulal Narayansingh Kushwaha.
Those arrests reportedly took the total number of people detained in the investigation to 10 at that stage.
How the Paper Was Allegedly Leaked
According to investigators, Mahore allegedly obtained the question paper from the printing press and passed it to former employee Sanjay Kumar Sharma and another accused, Sonu Kumar.
Police claim that Sharma and Sonu subsequently supplied the leaked paper to Bijendra Gupta.
Investigators suspect that the accused used their knowledge of the printing and packaging process to access the confidential examination papers.
Live Cartridges Recovered
Police also recovered three live cartridges from one of the previously arrested accused.
Officials said they are investigating where the cartridges came from and why the accused possessed them. The police are also examining the financial transactions, roles and connections of those allegedly involved in the conspiracy. (Hindustan Times)
