Delhi’s National Zoological Park has welcomed three newborn Asiatic lion cubs, marking a major conservation milestone for the zoo.

The cubs were born on July 7 to Asiatic lioness Mahagauri and breeding male Maheshwar. Zoo officials said the three cubs are healthy and are currently being kept in a secure maternity enclosure. (The New Indian Express)
A Big Win for Conservation
The latest birth is being seen as an encouraging step in the zoo’s efforts to conserve the endangered Asiatic lion.
Mahagauri had earlier given birth to two cubs on April 27 last year a male named Kartik and a female named Karni. Both are reportedly doing well at the zoo. (The New Indian Express)

The newborn cubs are being raised in a calm and undisturbed environment under their mother’s care.

With the arrival of the three cubs, Delhi Zoo is now home to six Asiatic lions.
