Residents of Hyderabad are likely to experience an intense spell of summer heat over the next five days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting a sharp rise in temperatures.
According to IMD, maximum temperatures in Hyderabad are expected to range between 36°C and 40°C during this period.
In simple terms: rising heat + continuous high temperatures = uncomfortable conditions.
Meanwhile, several districts across Telangana could witness even more severe conditions, with temperatures likely to touch 44°C. These include Adilabad, Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Nalgonda, Sangareddy and others.
Adding to the concern, independent weather forecaster T. Balaji (popularly known as Telangana Weatherman) has predicted that Hyderabad could experience 40–42°C heat continuously for the next week, while some districts may see temperatures between 42–45°C.
Why this matters: Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can impact health, increase dehydration risks, and disrupt daily life, especially for outdoor workers.
Authorities generally advise residents to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions as temperatures continue to rise.
The coming days are expected to test the city’s resilience to summer heat, with both official forecasts and independent predictions indicating a sustained heatwave-like situation.
