Indian AI researcher and IIT Bombay alumnus Rishabh Agrawal has responded to a viral post claiming that he left a $1 million Meta job offer to join an artificial intelligence startup.

Agrawal clarified that Meta’s offer was actually “an order of magnitude higher than $1 million,” suggesting the figure was significantly larger than what was being reported. (Hindustan Times)
The viral post claimed that Agrawal worked at Meta’s Superintelligence Labs for around five months before leaving to become a founding member of Periodic Labs, an AI startup reportedly backed by Nvidia and Jeff Bezos. (Hindustan Times)
Periodic Labs is working on AI systems designed to generate hypotheses and support real-world scientific experiments, including research into new materials, medicines and physics. (Hindustan Times)
Agrawal previously worked with organisations including Google Brain, DeepMind and Waymo. He studied at IIT Bombay and later completed his PhD at Mila, the Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute. (Hindustan Times)
