Ten Hag: Ronaldo let me down during our time at United

Ten Hag has admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo let the team and himself down during their time together at Manchester United. The former manager said he had been eager to work with the Portuguese star and had even travelled to Portugal to discuss his plans before taking the United job in 2022. However, he felt Ronaldo's preparation and attitude were lacking. Ten Hag said the forward missed training sessions, did not work at the required intensity, and failed to complete running exercises after a 4-0 loss to Brentford. He also noted that Ronaldo's approach affected some teammates, with players not taking football seriously. Ronaldo left United in November 2022 after a falling out with Ten Hag, joining Al-Nassr in December 2022.
