Happy Street in Rajahmundry šŸ˜šŸ•ŗšŸŽ‰šŸ„³šŸ’ƒ


In a move to take recreation and entertainment closer to the citizens, the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation (RMC) in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh is launching Happy Streets programme on Sunday. Although the programme is a similar one being implemented in metros, the RMC authorities have added local flavor and colours to it.Taking the suggestions of special chief secretary Y Srilakshmi into consideration, municipal commissioner and young IAS officer Kothamasu Dinesh Kumar had personally designed theHappy Streets programme. ā€œThis programme has been readied to help people, particularly children, have more fun on streets to relieve them from stress. Since the school final examinations are nearing completion, children are eager to take part in it,ā€ Dinesh Kumar told ā€˜TOI.’ Dinesh, native of Vijayawada, cracked civil services in 2017 with all-India 6th rank He said that the RMC had spared Rs 1.3 crore to create creative infrastructure for the benefit of the participants. He said that experts in different fields including jumba dance, yoga, meditation, outdoor badminton, outdoor table tennis would be present at the happy streets on AKC College road in the city.


He said that they have made special arrangements for the recreation of children.
