Gaza Burning Again: Israel Steps Up Attacks, Thousands Flee

TL;DR: Israel has now taken control of nearly 75% of Gaza, with heavy air and ground strikes destroying entire neighborhoods. Over 65,000 Palestinians have died in the last two years, while lakhs are fleeing towards the coast for safety. The UN has called it a massacre, but Israel continues its push against Hamas. Meanwhile, Yemen has also been bombed, and the European Union is debating sanctions. From the people’s side—it is always the poor and working class who pay the highest price while the powerful play politics.

Gaza today looks like a city reduced to rubble. The Israeli army is not slowing down—it’s striking from the air and pushing ground troops deep into Gaza. Apartment buildings and markets are being flattened in seconds, leaving thousands of families without shelter. Reports say that Israel already controls around 75% of the Gaza Strip, and is focusing on eliminating the last 3,000 Hamas fighters still holding out in Gaza City.

The United Nations has called what’s happening a massacre. Yet, Israel’s army insists that it will continue until Hamas is completely wiped out. The sad truth is that it’s ordinary people—children, women, elderly—who are caught in between and suffering the most.

📊 The numbers are heartbreaking:

  • More than 65,000 Palestinians killed in just two years

  • Over 1.65 lakh injured

  • Nearly 6 lakh displaced and forced to leave their homes

Streets are filled with people rushing to coastal areas, carrying whatever little they can save. After Israel issued warnings, over 3.5 lakh people have already moved, turning the beaches into temporary camps with no proper food, water, or medicines.

But this war isn’t only in Gaza. Israel also carried out strikes in Yemen, targeting Houthi weapon sites. In retaliation, Houthi forces fired rockets back at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, setting off sirens across Israeli cities.

The European Union is also divided over sanctions. Countries like Spain and Ireland are demanding punishment for Israel’s actions, while Germany, Hungary, and the Czech Republic are blocking such moves. While leaders argue in meeting halls, families in Gaza are left grieving in the ruins of their homes.

MediaFx Opinion (from the people’s side):

This war is not just about Hamas or Israel—it’s about ordinary people. Workers, farmers, daily wage earners, small shopkeepers—people like us—are the ones losing everything. Children are losing parents, and parents are losing children. Rich leaders and arms companies profit from this conflict, but the poor pay with their lives. True peace will come only when the world stops supporting endless wars and stands with the people instead of governments.

What do you feel? Shouldn’t the world stop these wars and push for peace rather than more bombs? Share your thoughts in the comments.
