Fuel Crisis Alert in Andhra: Naidu Reviews Supply After Panic Buying

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} reviewed the petrol and diesel supply situation across the state after a sudden spike in demand led to temporary shutdowns of several fuel stations.

Officials reported that out of 4,510 fuel outlets in the state, nearly 10%—around 421 petrol bunks—were forced to close due to lack of stock. The surge in demand has been largely attributed to panic buying by the public.

The Chief Minister expressed concern over the situation, stating that panic-driven purchases were worsening the crisis and causing inconvenience to citizens. He directed authorities to take immediate steps to stabilise supply and ensure uninterrupted fuel availability.

Efforts are now underway to streamline distribution and prevent further disruptions. The government has also urged people to avoid unnecessary stocking and cooperate to maintain normal supply levels.

With authorities closely monitoring the situation, measures are being implemented to restore confidence and prevent further shortages across the state.
