Fire Breaks Out at Rajasthan Refinery Before PM Modi Visit

A major fire broke out at the Pachpadra refinery in Rajasthan just a day before its scheduled inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, raising serious safety concerns.

The refinery, a significant energy infrastructure project, was set to be officially inaugurated soon when the incident occurred. According to initial reports, flames and thick smoke were seen rising from the site, triggering an immediate emergency response.

Firefighters rushed to the location and worked to control the blaze. Authorities have not yet confirmed the exact cause of the fire, but preliminary indications suggest it may be linked to a technical or operational issue within the facility.

No casualties have been reported so far, but the incident has put a spotlight on safety preparedness at large-scale industrial projects, especially ahead of high-profile events.

Officials are currently assessing the extent of the damage and whether the inauguration schedule will be impacted. Security and safety protocols are also under review as investigations continue.

The Pachpadra refinery is considered a key project for boosting India’s energy capacity, making the incident particularly significant at both economic and political levels.
