Skywatchers in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh will get a short but special celestial moment on Tuesday, March 3.
The final phase of a total lunar eclipse will be visible across several parts of India, including Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Rajahmundry, and Nellore. According to official timings, the Moon will rise at 6:22 PM in Hyderabad and 6:19 PM in Nalgonda — giving residents about 26 minutes and 29 minutes respectively to catch the eclipse phase.
In Andhra Pradesh, viewers in Rajahmundry will get the longest viewing window — around 41 minutes after moonrise at 6:07 PM. In Nellore, the Moon is expected to rise at 6:18 PM, allowing roughly 30 minutes of visibility.
In simple terms: you’ll only see the last part of the eclipse — but it’s still worth stepping outside for.
Because the eclipse will already be in its final stage at moonrise, viewers won’t witness the full “blood moon” transformation, but the fading shadow effect should still be visible if skies remain clear.
Why this matters: astronomy events consistently trend across social media, especially when they’re short-duration and city-specific. Expect Instagram stories, rooftop photos, and quick telescope reels.
Subtle system angle: while urban light pollution makes sky events harder to see, smaller towns and outskirts often get clearer views — a reminder that city growth sometimes comes at the cost of darker skies.
Set your reminders — this one won’t last long.
