Experience of doing the Last Interview of K Vishwanath Garu

K. Vishwanath should I say is …or was… and will always be a legendary Indian film director and screenwriter or all of us Film enthusiasts.

Despite his success as a filmmaker, Vishwanath garu was always humble and grounded. He was known for his love of storytelling and his ability to create meaningful, thought-provoking films that resonated with audiences. He was also known for his dedication to his craft, and he spent countless hours researching and writing scripts, casting actors, and working with his team to bring his vision to life.

In this article, I am sharing my experience of conducting the last interview of K. Vishwanath before he passed away. It was an honour and a privilege to sit down with this legendary filmmaker, and I will always treasure the memories of that day.

Though I had the opportunity to interview him earlier about fifteen years ago, I was still nervous as I approached Vishwanath's home for the interview. After all, I was about to meet one of the most celebrated directors in the Telugu film industry, and I wanted to make sure I asked the right questions. But as soon as I sat down with Vishwanath Garu, I felt at ease. He was warm, welcoming, and full of stories to share at the age of 92, with that same smile and when he complimented me for my smile I dint have any words to add…

Over the course of our interview, Vishwanath Garu shared with me his passion for filmmaking and his love of storytelling. He talked about his early days in the industry and his journey to becoming a director. He also shared his thoughts on the current state of the film industry and his hopes for the future.

Throughout our conversation, Vishwanath's passion for filmmaking was evident. He eagerly shared his insights and wisdom with me, and he honoured me by being eager to hear my thoughts and opinions.

It was bittersweet to conduct this interview, knowing that it would be the last time I would have the opportunity to speak with Vishwanath Garu. But I am grateful for the memories I have of that day, and I will always cherish them.

K. Vishwanath passed away on 2nd February 2023, but his legacy lives on through his films and the impact he had on the film industry. He will always be remembered as a talented director, a gifted storyteller, and a true icon of Indian cinema.

I will soon share the full interview of ‘The Last Interview’ of K. Vishwanath Garu which will be an inspiration for every aficionado .
