Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has opened up about a major lifestyle transformation that reportedly helped him lose around 46 kg.

Gadkari said he once weighed about 135 kg and now weighs around 89 kg, crediting regular exercise and a more disciplined routine for the change.

A New Daily Routine

Speaking in a video shared on Farah Khan’s YouTube channel, Gadkari said he now wakes up around 7 am and spends roughly two to two-and-a-half hours exercising.

He said exercise has become a non-negotiable part of his schedule, even on days when his official commitments continue late into the night.

What Triggered The Change?

Gadkari said the COVID period became a turning point in how he viewed his health.

He described his earlier lifestyle as unplanned and undisciplined and said losing friends during the pandemic made him reassess his priorities.

For him, the transformation was not only about looking slimmer but about taking his overall health more seriously.

From 135 Kg To 89 Kg

According to Gadkari, his weight dropped from around 135 kg to 89 kg.

Rather than highlighting fad diets or quick fixes, he credited consistency, exercise and discipline for his progress.

Why This Matters

Big weight-loss stories often go viral because of the numbers, but Gadkari’s account highlights a more practical message: long-term routines can matter more than overnight transformations.

At the same time, a routine involving two or more hours of daily exercise may not be suitable for everyone. Fitness and weight-loss plans should ideally be tailored to an individual’s health, age and medical needs.

Hindustan Times also notes that the report is based on user-generated social-media content and that the claims were not independently verified by the publication.
