A political controversy has erupted after a viral video claimed that several attendees at Prime Minister :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}’s recent public meeting in Hyderabad were allegedly paid ₹300 each to participate in the rally.
The meeting, organised by the :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1} at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on May 10, drew large crowds from different parts of the city and nearby areas.
In the now-viral Instagram video shared by *@shamanews247*, a reporter speaks to a group of people from Uttar Pradesh who were reportedly staying in Nacharam. Two burqa-clad women from the group said they had travelled from Nacharam to attend the public meeting.
The reporter was later directed to a man identified as Raushan, who claimed to be the group leader. According to him, each person in the group received ₹300 to attend the rally. When questioned about the payment amount, he reportedly said, “They asked us to come, so we came. I don’t know much about it.”
The video has triggered heated political reactions online, with opposition voices questioning crowd mobilisation methods at major rallies, while BJP supporters have dismissed the claims as politically motivated and unverified.
As of now, there has been no official response from the BJP regarding the allegations circulating on social media. The authenticity of the claims made in the video has also not been independently verified.
