With the upcoming elections, there's speculation that YSRCP might halt pension distributions as a strategy to target TDP and its leader, Chandrababu Naidu. This rumor gains traction from statements made by Keshineni Nani and Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, hinting at possible policy changes. Botsa questioned, “Why would Chandrababu Naidu obstruct pensions being delivered by volunteers, which are facilitated by Jaganmohan Reddy for the needy?”
Despite clear directives from the Election Commission to find alternative methods to distribute pensions without volunteers, YSRCP seems to be pushing the narrative that TDP's objections are causing delays in pension distribution. With March ending, YSRCP might start rallying people by claiming that TDP's opposition has prevented the government from disbursing pensions. This could potentially stir discontent and anger among pensioners.
Minister Botsa's statements hint that YSRCP is ready to execute this plan, putting pressure on TDP and Jana Sena to strategize effectively. Given the Jagan government's struggle to pay employee salaries on time, leveraging pensions as a final move before the elections could be a strong argument to pressure the government into ensuring timely pension disbursement. This strategy might help YSRCP avoid electoral backlash.
