"Sister's Battle in Kadapa: Who Will Triumph?"

Suresh D

Before the 2019 elections, the murder of Viveka in Pulivendula presented an opportunity for the opposition party to spotlight the alleged involvement of the ruling party, with narratives in their own media and Jagan's election campaign focusing on this issue. This attention led to significant political damage for the TDP, while also casting a shadow over Viveka's family, particularly after Jagan assumed power.

The narratives around Viveka's murder varied widely, from speculative stories about his second marriage given his age, to disputes over property being the motive, and even implicating family members. These stories proliferated without evidence, especially in Sakshi media, owned by Jagan's family.

Sunita, Viveka's daughter, realized the extent of the political machinations around her father's death and began her struggle for justice. On one side, she faced the challenge of fighting for her father, while on the other, she had to counter the narratives maligning her family. YS Sharmila, Jagan's sister, stood by Sunita, offering her the political strength she needed.

Sharmila, deciding to contest as a Congress MP from Kadapa, positions herself against Avinash Reddy, the YCP candidate from Kadapa, amidst accusations surrounding her cousin's involvement in Viveka's murder. This family feud, now a political battle, has turned Kadapa into a fascinating electoral battleground, leaving everyone eager to see who will emerge victorious.

Sunita has appealed to the people of Andhra Pradesh not to vote for YCP, which she accuses of politicizing her father's murder. Meanwhile, suspicions against Avinash Reddy have been growing among the public, especially as he avoids investigation inquiries. The film "Vivekam," based on Viveka's murder, further fuels these suspicions. If Jagan supports Avinash, Viveka's family and Sharmila will stand united against them. The solidarity once seen for Jagan in the last elections has shifted, with Viveka's family now supporting Sharmila.
