Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has revealed that he admired cricketer KL Rahul long before Rahul married his daughter, Athiya Shetty.
Recalling their first meeting, Suniel said he approached Rahul as a fan and described the experience as a “fanboy moment.” He added that Rahul’s talent, humility and personality had impressed him even before the cricketer became part of the family.
Suniel Was Already a KL Rahul Fan
Suniel said he had followed Rahul’s cricket and appreciated the way he conducted himself both on and off the field.
He described Rahul as well-spoken, soft, humble and capable of leaving a positive impression on young people through his performances and behaviour.

When asked whether he gives KL Rahul cricket advice, Suniel said he does not interfere in his son-in-law’s professional decisions.
According to the actor, career discussions are avoided at home. Instead, the family focuses on character, values and keeping relationships simple.

Suniel also spoke about why he did not become an IPL franchise owner.
The actor jokingly said people often assume he is wealthier than he actually is. He added that he might have considered buying a team with the backing of investors or financial partners.
