Heavy Rain May Hit Hyderabad Tonight

Hyderabad residents have been advised to remain alert as the India Meteorological Department forecasts moderate to heavy rain or thunderstorms across the city.
In its latest bulletin issued at 2 pm on July 30, the IMD placed Hyderabad under a yellow rainfall warning. Heavy rain may occur at isolated locations, accompanied by strong surface winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph.
Hyderabad Forecast
The city is expected to experience a generally cloudy sky during the next 24 hours.
Moderate to heavy rain or thunderstorms, accompanied by strong winds, are likely in parts of Hyderabad. The maximum temperature is expected to remain around 27°C, while the minimum may stay close to 23°C.
Northern Telangana Faces Stronger Warning
The most serious warning is for northern Telangana.
A red alert has been issued for Adilabad, Komuram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal and Jagtial, where isolated locations may receive very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall with winds of 40 to 50 kmph.
An orange alert covers Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu and Kamareddy. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible in these districts.
Apart from Hyderabad, the yellow-alert districts include Medak, Sangareddy, Jangaon, Hanumakonda, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Vikarabad, Rangareddy, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Siddipet and Bhadradri Kothagudem.
What Is Causing the Rain?
The IMD said the southwest monsoon remained vigorous over Telangana. A deep depression over central India and an active monsoon trough were influencing the region’s weather.
Rainfall activity is expected to reduce gradually. Light to moderate rain is forecast at many places in Telangana on July 31, with heavy rain possible at isolated locations in Adilabad, Nirmal and Nizamabad.
Travel Advisory
Residents should avoid unnecessary travel during intense rain, allow additional time for evening journeys and stay away from flooded roads, open drains and low-lying areas.
Commuters should follow official IMD, disaster-management and traffic-police updates because rainfall intensity can vary significantly between neighbourhoods.
