Eetha Moves to December 4: Shraddha Kapoor’s Film Avoids Toxic Clash

Shraddha Kapoor-starrer Eetha, based on the life of legendary Lavani and Tamasha artiste Vithabai Narayangaonkar, has been postponed from its earlier August 28 release date. The film will now hit theatres on December 4, 2026.
The change avoids a direct box-office clash with Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, which is scheduled to release on August 26.
Why Was Eetha Postponed?
Eetha was originally scheduled for August 28, putting it just two days after Toxic.
With both films targeting a major theatrical audience, the makers have now shifted Eetha to December, giving the Shraddha Kapoor-led period drama a separate release window.
Shraddha Kapoor Plays Vithabai Narayangaonkar
The film features Shraddha Kapoor portraying Vithabai Narayangaonkar, the celebrated Maharashtra-based Lavani performer.
The film is directed by Laxman Utekar and also stars Randeep Hooda and Zeeshan Ayub Khan.
The teaser had generated significant attention, particularly for Kapoor's transformation and Lavani performance.
Toxic Finally Gets August Release
Yash's Toxic has itself gone through multiple release-date changes.
The film was initially scheduled for March 19, was subsequently moved to June and then postponed again. In June, the makers announced August 26, 2026 as the new worldwide theatrical release date.
The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas and stars Yash alongside a major ensemble cast.
Eetha Finds a December Slot
With the new December 4 date, Eetha moves away from the crowded August release calendar and gets a longer gap from Toxic.
However, the December release will bring a different set of box-office competitors, making the new date an important strategic decision for the film.
