šŸ Did this happen before the Test series? šŸ

Updated: Mar 4, 2024

Young Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan's future is in jeopardy after the BCCI removed him from the annual contract list. Kishan withdrew from the Test series against South Africa due to mental exhaustion. He also missed the Test series against England. The BCCI has issued an order to allow players representing their state teams in domestic cricket if they are not allowed to play for the national team. However, Ishaan ignored this. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø left for Baroda to prepare for IPL 2024 with Pandya brothers. šŸ†

Angered by Kishan's behaviour, the BCCI released him from his annual contract. Not only Ishan Kishan but also Shreyas Iyer faced severe action from the BCCI for not playing for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy quarter final against Baroda. šŸ

BCCI did not reveal the clear reason for the dismissal of the star players. However, it confirmed that the players were not considered for the contract. Now, according to a report in ESPNCricnfo, BCCI seems to have approached Ishan Kishan during the Test series against England. BCCI asked Kishan to play in the Test series against England. But, the wicket keeper-batter said no to this too. He seems to have said that he is not yet ready to play Test cricket. After Kishan declined, the board chose Dhruv Jurel as the back-up wicketkeeper to KS Bharat. šŸ

India-England fifth test match will start from March 7. KL Rahul missed this match. Rahul is still out of the game as he is yet to regain fitness. Rahul went to London to seek expert opinion on quadriceps tendon injury. Also, pacer and vice-captain Jasprit Bumrah, who was rested from the fourth Test, will return to the playing eleven for the fifth Test. šŸšŸ’„
