TL;DR š
C. P. Radhakrishnan, BJPās veteran leader, is now Indiaās 15th Vice-PresidentĀ š¼. He won the election on 9 Sept 2025 against oppositionās B. Sudershan Reddy with a 152-vote marginĀ š³ļø. He took oath at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 12 Sept, with President Murmu administering the oath š. Big NDA leaders showed up š, but many opposition leaders skipped ā. This marks NDAās stronger hold on power šļø, but for common people, what matters is whether this office really safeguards equality and justice š¤.

Full Story šØ
So fam, Delhi just got a new Vice-PresidentĀ š®š. On 12 September 2025, C. P. RadhakrishnanĀ officially took the oath at Rashtrapati BhavanĀ under the eyes of President Droupadi MurmuĀ šøš®š³. And guess what? The ceremony looked grand, but also kinda political ā”.
š The election happened on 9 September 2025, and results were like total dhamaka š„. Radhakrishnan bagged 452 votes, while oppositionās B. Sudershan ReddyĀ got 300. Around 15 votes went invalidĀ š¤·. So overall, NDA showed muscle power šŖ with a clear #VictoryMarginĀ of 152 votes.
Why was there even an election? š¤ Because the former VP Jagdeep DhankharĀ resigned on 21 July citing health issues š„. That opened the door for this new race.
At the swearing-in ceremony šļø:
Big names like PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Om BirlaĀ showed up š¼āØ.
Even ex-Vice-Presidents Hamid AnsariĀ & Venkaiah NaiduĀ were present š¤.
But surprise surprise šā¦ Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun KhargeĀ and many opposition leaders didnāt attend. Thatās like giving side-eye to the whole process š.
Who is this guy? š
Radhakrishnan aināt new to politics. Heās a BJP veteran from Tamil NaduĀ š“. Once upon a time he was MP from Coimbatore (1998 & 1999) šļø. He even worked as Governor of MaharashtraĀ (2024ā2025) & Governor of JharkhandĀ earlier. And yeah, heās been RSS/BJP loyalist since decades š. People call him clean-image politician, very Sangh-ideological but also practical in governance ā .
Why does it matter for us? š§
The Vice-President is not just for ribbon cutting āļø. Heās also the Chairperson of Rajya SabhaĀ š. That means NDA now has even tighter control over the #UpperHouse. Opposition may find it tougher to raise strong fights inside Parliament š¬.
But hereās the thing š for common folks in Andhra, Telangana, Tamil Nadu & across Bharat, the real question is ā will this new VP use the seat for peopleās welfare or just party politics? š¤·
Political vibes š¶ļø
The opposition losing by 152 votes is no small thing š¬. It hints at #CrossVotingĀ too, meaning some opposition MLAs/MPs didnāt stick with their own block. Thatās a wake-up call šØ for INDIA alliance.
Meanwhile, NDA supporters are celebrating like festival š, while critics are like āmeh, another Sangh man in a high chairā š. The absence of top opposition leaders at the oath itself sends a silent message of protest ā.
MediaFx Peopleās Angle š”
See boss, positions like VP donāt directly decide your LPG price or your job šø. But they do matter for democracyĀ and fair playĀ š. If Rajya Sabha is guided with fairness, opposition gets chance to raise voice š¢. If not, govt can bulldoze bills š.
So from peopleās side, whatās important is not just who won, but whether the Vice-President will safeguard equality, peace & accountabilityĀ š¤. Ordinary youth want jobs, farmers want fair prices, workers want rights š·āāļøš¾. These are bigger than any Delhi chair fight.
