₹950-crore double-decker flyover planned between LB Nagar and Hayathnagar

A massive infrastructure project is being planned to tackle traffic congestion on one of Hyderabad’s busiest corridors.

The Telangana government is proposing a **₹950-crore double-decker flyover between LB Nagar and Hayathnagar** along the Hyderabad–Vijayawada National Highway. Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said the proposal will soon be sent to the Centre for approval.

In simple terms: Hyderabad may soon get another stacked flyover to ease daily traffic.

According to officials, the corridor currently experiences heavy congestion due to the large number of commuters travelling between Hyderabad and the eastern suburbs. The planned double-decker structure aims to reduce bottlenecks and improve traffic flow along the highway.

The minister also said Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways **Nitin Gadkari has responded positively** to the proposal, raising expectations that the project could move forward quickly once submitted for central approval.

Why this matters: the LB Nagar–Hayathnagar stretch is a key entry and exit route for the city and regularly faces long traffic delays during peak hours.

Subtle system angle: the proposal may also include a **metro corridor integrated with the flyover**, reflecting how modern urban planning increasingly combines road infrastructure with mass transit systems to handle growing city traffic.
