We Don't Trust Mamata Banerjee

The role of TMC leader Mamata Banerjee in the India Alliance continues to be a point of contention. Recently, Mamata Banerjee stated that while TMC is part of the alliance, they will support the formation of the government from the outside. This statement sparked a sharp reaction from Bengal Congress President Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

"I don't understand what she intends to do by supporting the alliance from the outside or inside. You should ask her this question. We do not trust her. She left the alliance herself. Now she might even go towards BJP. If she had any complaints about the India Alliance, she should have shared them earlier," he said. Chowdhury also noted a change in Mamata's stance amid reports that the opposition alliance is leading after 70% of the votes have been cast. "They (BJP) said Congress would not get more than 40 seats. But from what Mamata says, it seems the India Alliance will come to power," he added.

It is known that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee initially postponed joining the India Alliance. Later, she mentioned that she would support the government from the outside. She recently clarified her stance in a rally at Tamluk, stating, "I am indeed part of the India Alliance. The India Alliance originated from my thoughts. We are united at the national level and will continue to move forward together in the future." However, she also made it clear that she does not see the Bengal state Congress or CPM as part of her coalition.
