Kangana Ranaut's upcoming film "Emergency," which she has directed herself, is facing a new setback. Initially, the Censor Board agreed to provide a certificate after reviewing the film, but now they are refusing to do so. Kangana claims, "Someone is pressuring them to stop my film. They are deliberately trying to block its release. I am ready to take this matter to court for the release of my film."
There are also reports that some states are considering banning the movie. The Telangana government is rumored to be thinking about it too. The controversy revolves around accusations that the film portrays the Sikh community in a negative light. Without a certificate from the Censor Board, the movie cannot be released, bringing new trouble for Kangana. The film "Emergency" was scheduled to be released on September 6, but with the current situation, it's uncertain whether it will get the necessary clearance.
If the certificate is granted, the film can be released nationwide. Even if state governments impose a ban, courts can order its removal, as seen with the "The Kerala Story" movie, where the ban imposed by West Bengal was lifted following court orders. Now, it remains to be seen how Kangana's film will fare.
