Prabhas has become a major challenge for other heroes in the industry. Every year, his movies set new benchmarks, opening with massive collections, and 2024 is no different with "Kalki." š
The big question now is, which movie will beat this record? Vijay's "G.O.A.T." failed to surpass "Kalki." So, whoās next on the list? Who will match or break the "Mission Kalki" records? Prabhas has solidified his position as the ultimate Pan-Indian hero, and the box office numbers speak for themselves.
Last year, "Salaar" collected ā¹168 crores on its first day, while this year, "Kalki" amassed a whopping ā¹183 crores. Vijay's "Leo" came close with ā¹146 crores on the first day but couldn't outdo "Kalki." The "G.O.A.T." with Vijay and Venkat Prabhu, despite low expectations, made a sensational opening in Tamil Nadu, grossing ā¹125 crores globally on its first day. However, it fell short compared to "Kalki."
Now, all eyes are on "Pushpa 2" to potentially beat "Kalki." Alongside it, "Devara" and "Game Changer" are also in the race. But to cross the ā¹185 crore mark on the first day, these films need at least ā¹40 crores from the Hindi circuits alone.
The buzz around "Pushpa 2" in North India suggests it might get bigger openings there than in Telugu states, similar to "Kalki," which collected ā¹25 crores on its first day in Hindi. If "Pushpa 2" repeats this success in Telugu, Tamil, and overseas markets, it could easily shatter "Kalki's" record. Moreover, after "Baahubali 2" and "RRR," no film has crossed ā¹200 crores on its first day, making it a target for "Pushpa 2."
So, the big question remains: who will be the hero to dethrone "Kalki" in 2024? Let's wait and watch! š¬š„
