Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has announced that his party will contest elections in Telangana, signalling a fresh push to expand the party beyond Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking about the party’s future plans, Pawan Kalyan said Jana Sena would not stay away from Telangana politics and would take part in the electoral process in the state.

The announcement is politically significant because Jana Sena has so far been seen mainly as a strong Andhra Pradesh focused party, especially after its alliance success in the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections.
Pawan Kalyan’s latest statement now indicates that the party wants to build a stronger organisational presence in Telangana as well.
According to reports, Jana Sena is preparing to actively participate in the 2028 Telangana Assembly elections and Pawan Kalyan is expected to tour the state as part of the party’s expansion plan. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}
The move could add a new layer to Telangana politics, where Congress, BRS and BJP are already competing for political space.
For Jana Sena, the challenge will be to convert Pawan Kalyan’s popularity into a ground level political network in Telangana.
The party will also have to identify strong local leaders, build booth level structures and decide whether it will contest independently or explore alliance options.
For now, the message from Pawan Kalyan is clear.
Jana Sena wants to be seen not just as an Andhra Pradesh party, but as a political force with a Telangana roadmap too.
