NEET 2026 Leak Scandal: WhatsApp "Guess Paper" Matches Real Exam, 13 Arrested

In a stunning revelation just two days before 22.79 lakh students sat for NEET 2026, a handwritten PDF containing an exact match of the exam's questions and answer sequence circulated quietly on WhatsApp. Known as the "guess paper," it promised aspiring students 600 out of 720 marks for a price ranging from ₹20,000 to ₹2 lakh.

The leaked document contained 140 questions that were word-for-word identical to those in the real exam, including the precise order of multiple-choice options. This illicit exchange drew the attention of Rajasthan Police, who have detained 13 suspects and traced the source of the leak from Sikar to a Kerala medical student.

Despite this security breach, the National Testing Agency (NTA) continues to claim that their AI and GPS tracking systems did not fail, even though they only became aware of the issue four days after the exam took place. This breach has raised questions about the effectiveness of security measures designed to prevent such leaks and protect the integrity of high-stakes exams like NEET.
