š New Delhi/Ghaziabad, October 20: Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the country's first rapid train (Namo Bharat). š

At this time UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Urban Development Minister Hardeep Puri also participated. š The 17 km corridor prepared in the first phase will run from Sahibabad to Duhai. š It is named Namo Bharat. This is India's first RapidX train. š
š Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 'Namo Bharat' from the station built in Vasundhara Sector-8, Ghaziabad. š Rapid train services for common people will start from Saturday. š The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor will cover a distance of 17 km in the first phase. š
š» Fully air-conditioned Namo Bharat trains have seats in a 2Ć2 layout on both sides, ample standing space and luggage racks. š§³ Advanced facilities like CCTVs, emergency door opening system, charging points have been provided. š These trains run every 15 minutes from 6 am to 11 pm. š
š National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) is preparing a network of Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) in NCR, which will be connected with various lines of Delhi Metro. š It connects cities like Alwar, Panipat and Meerut to Delhi. šš
