In a wave of re-releases, Bollywood is bringing back a timeless classic, Maine Pyar Kiya, to theaters. Directed by Sooraj Barjatya and starring Salman Khan and Bhagyashree, this iconic love story, which originally hit screens on December 29, 1989, is set for a grand re-release on August 23, 2024.

Back in 1989, Maine Pyar Kiya was a blockbuster, made with a budget of ₹1 crore and earning a staggering ₹28 crores at the box office—a monumental achievement for its time. The film’s songs continue to be loved by audiences, and its story has remained etched in the hearts of many.

Not just in Bollywood, but across India, Maine Pyar Kiya was a massive success, including its Telugu version, Prema Paavuraalu, which ran for over 200 days in theaters. Now, after 35 years, Rajshri Films has officially announced the re-release of this beloved film across India, much to the excitement of Salman Khan’s fans and cinema lovers alike.
