While the first part of Kantara was shot in Rishabh Shetty's hometown Kundapura, the second part was decided to be shot in Mangalore. The second part script requires forest area, land and water. That is why Mangalore was chosen. This movie is going to have a bigger budget than Kantara 1. The shooting of the film will be in a schedule of four months.
