India are set to return to New Zealand for a Test series after seven years, with New Zealand Cricket announcing a major home schedule for the 2026 summer.
The tour will be one of India’s biggest visits to New Zealand in recent years and will include 12 matches across formats.

According to the schedule, India will play five T20 Internationals, five One Day Internationals and two Test matches against New Zealand.
The series is expected to begin on October 22 and continue till December 1, making it a long and important assignment for both teams.
The biggest highlight is India’s return to Test cricket in New Zealand. The last time India played a Test series there was before the long gap, making this tour a major moment for red-ball cricket fans.
For India, the conditions in New Zealand will be a serious challenge. Swing, seam movement and pace-friendly pitches have often tested Indian batters in the past.
For New Zealand, the series is a chance to host one of cricket’s biggest teams in a full multi-format contest.
The tour is also important because India and New Zealand have built a strong modern rivalry across ICC tournaments, Test cricket and white-ball formats.
From World Test Championship battles to high-pressure knockout matches, games between the two sides have often delivered drama.
This time, fans will get a full package: T20 action, ODI intensity and two serious Test matches in New Zealand conditions.
