India Checks Reports of Yacht Incident Involving 14 Nationals

India’s embassy in Yemen says it is checking reports of an incident involving 14 Indian nationals on a yacht off Yemen’s coast. In its statement, the mission said it was ascertaining details and would provide all possible help for their safety and well-being. The Indian Express reports that some Arab media carried a Houthi spokesperson’s claim that Saudi forces had targeted the yacht. Those circumstances were not confirmed in the embassy’s statement. The distinction is important: an official acknowledgement of reports is not confirmation of how an incident happened. Further details about the reported incident and the people involved were still awaited in the source report.
