Dear CM KCR garu,
I am writing this letter on few important issues.
For the first time in the country there will be a secretariat in the name of Dr. Ambedkar and I congratulate you for making it possible. Its very appreciable that you have also erected the biggest statue of Baba saheb Ambedkar as Statue of Knowledge in front of the State Secretariat, which will remind everyone involved in governance to follow his teachings.
Caste annihilation is one of the strong points of Dr. Ambedkar teachings. I’m very sure that you are aware of the fact that Dr Ambedkar has written a book on caste annihilation and he cherished throughout his life to achieve it. It was one of his life long goals. Hence I request you to think positively on my below suggestions.
1. You have given land and money for each caste and also money for marriage. But you have not announced any financial assistance to the people who have gone for inter-caste marriages. I propose you should gift one lakh rupees to Inter-caste married couple & two lakh rupees if one of the spouse is Dalit, a double bed room house, and provide 1% reservation in jobs for them.
3. I request you to think of passing a legislation Against Superstitions(Andha Viswas) which includes black magic in some Telangana villages even now. People accuse some women or men mainly from SC and BC Communities and rouse innocent people to torture and kill them. Though this is much less now, still there are cases of killings on the name of “Banamathi” in some districts leading to murders because of Mass Frenzy. We need an act to prevent and for punishment of those who have committed crime and those abetted. During Nizam’s period there was a special divison against Banamathi and chillangi under police department.
4. My suggestion to you is to bring a law like in Tamilnadu ie Right to sit. Several lakhs of people like Traffic police, private Security, hospital staff, class four employees in Government offices, sales personnel in the shops, lift staff, drivers and many others will be standing almost ten to twelve hours for years together. Doctors say that standing for long hours will affect negatively with less blood circulation to and from legs to heart. It may cause heart attacks, paralytic strokes etc.”Right to Sit” is a human right, and bring dignity to everyone’s life. Please think from humanitarian angle and react positively for enforcing an act to give them the appropriate right to sit.
5. Some books by Dr. Ambedkar have already been translated into Telugu. Government should take the initiative to get all books translated and subsidise these books to make the books available widely.
Looking forward for your positive response,
With regards
Suravaram Sudhakarreddy, Ex M P , Former General Secretary C P I
